Meet our Doctors
Dr. Selvi Radhakrishna is a consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon. She is practicing at Apollo Speciality Hospital and Chennai Breast Centre.
She graduated from Madras Medical College, Madras University in 1988, trained in general surgery in Chennai and in UK and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She has trained extensively in breast surgery from Cancer Institute-Adyar, AIIMS Delhi, and in Edinburgh breast unit, UK.
She has a number of publications in international journals. She is involved in research and educational activities in addition to her busy clinical practice.
She specializes in doing various breast surgeries including breast conservation surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, modified radical mastectomy and various oncoplastic breast techniques.
As a lady surgeon, she understands and empathizes with a woman's anxiety over breast related problems and goes that extra mile to do her best.

For most people, meeting together with others who were in a similar situation can help to decrease feelings of anxiety, isolation, or fear. Our support group provides a sense of community and opportunity to share experiences and learn different ways of dealing with problems.

Dr. M.Anugayathri is the Consultant Radiologist at Chennai Breast Centre.
She graduated from Stanley Medical College and had her DNB training in Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Apollo Speciality Hospital, Chennai.
She is interested in Breast and Oncologic Imaging and has made presentations in state-level, national and international conferences on topics in breast imaging.
She was awarded the ‘Young Investigator’s Scholarship’ at Asia-Oceanic Congress of Radiology in 2008.

Dr Deepa Chegu
Dr Deepa Chegu, Consultant Radiologist is a graduate of Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Chennai with special interest in Breast Imaging and Ultrasound imaging. She has undergone Visiting Fellowships in Breast imaging from University of California Sanfrancisco (UCSF), and Stanford University, USA. She has contributed co-authored multiple books for Radiology residents.

Breast Imaging and Interventions Program
Breast imaging and interventions 2012 program was conducted by Chennai breast centre at GRT Grand, Chennai on the 2nd, 3rd and 4 th of November 2012 . The meeting was attended by 104 radiologists and breast surgeons from all over the country. The feedback was great and many said was exceptionally good and beyond their expectations.
Breast Ultrasound workshop - July 2009
This workshop was well attended and received by surgeons and radiologists. Dr. Sasirekha Govindarajulu from Frenchay Breast Centre, Bristol, UK, contributed a lot to the workshop with her experience in performing, interpreting, and reporting ultrasound procedures, and demonstrated how to perform ultrasound-guided biopsies. She was present helping trainees to practice with phantoms to do breast biopsies.
Book released about breast cancer - August 24th 2010
Dr. Selvi Radhakrishna has authored a book called Breast cancer – A handbook in Tamil, released in August 2010, by Penn Nalam. This book addresses all aspects of diagnosis, treatment and care during and after treatment process in a very simple language.
Chennai Breast Centre - Inauguration - September 2009
Ms. Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, Member of Parliament inaugurated Chennai Breast Centre, an exclusive and comprehensive breast care centre, on September 1, 2009. This breast centre is established was a direct response to the growing needs for greater awareness about the importance of breast health amongst women of all ages.

The current project on metastatic potential of breast cancer by analysis of Matrix metalloproteases is of prime focus at it will add new dimensions to treatment & regulation in breast cancer. Apart from these Chennai Breast Centre has teams of researchers working on other areas of importance.
